1) The Housing and Urban Development Department's Office of Community Planning and Development has released a Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) called: McKinney-Vento HMIS Technical Assistance (FR-5500-N-29). There is a small window in which to apply— applications are due November 15, 2011. Funds are available to provide technical assistance on homelessness programs administered by the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). There is approximately $7 M is available for Homeless Management Informational System (HMIS) data collection, data utilization, performance measurement, reporting and research. No cost sharing required. Good candidates include: states, units of local government, public housing agencies, public or private organizations, including area-wide planning organizations.
2) The Housing and Urban Development Department's Office of Community Planning and Development has released a NOFA for the Neighborhood Stabilization Program Technical Assistance and Capacity Building (NSP TA) . (FR-5499-N-01). Through this NOFA/Request for Qualifications, HUD is announcing the availability of approximately $20 million to fund NSP TA. All organizations that are experienced and successful in providing program, technical, planning, financial, and organizational capacity building assistance, or consulting in such areas as community development, affordable housing, organizational management, financing and underwriting, construction and rehabilitation management, land banking, project management and strategic planning, are encouraged to apply. No cost sharing required. Short deadline to submit qualifications—November 21, 2011. Good candidates include: states, units of local government, public housing agencies, public or private organizations including area-wide planning organizations, or a combination of any of the above.
3) The Department of Homeland Security has released an RFP for small businesses to submit proposals for feasibility study funding (Phase I) for research or research and development in the area of homeland security. Completing the DHS Small Business Office's Phase I is a pre-requisite for future DHS funding. Responses are due 1/15/2012. Check it out here.
