Recent award winners have included The Young Author Project, Project STEP, Inc. (Intensive String Training Program for Black and Latino Young People), and the Missouri History Museum’s Teens Make History program. $10,000 will be awarded to successful programs or organizations with 12 awards expected to be made. The 2015 winners have recently been announced and next year’s competition is now open; the deadline for 2016 applicants is February 2016. Good candidates: Museums, libraries, performing arts organizations, educational institutions, arts centers, community organizations, businesses, and eligible government agencies. 2) The U.S. Bank Foundation awards more than $20 million of grants each year in the areas of education, economic opportunity, and arts and cultural enrichment. Good candidates: 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations. For more information, click HERE.
3) The National Science Foundation (NSF) is accepting applications for Improving Undergraduate STEM Education: Education and Human Resources grants. The NSF offers a number of funding opportunities to better prepare students to become literate and proficient in the fields of science, math, engineering, and technology. This particular grant opportunity addresses undergraduate education through two tracks: programs for Engaged Student Learning and programs for Institutional and Community Transformation; within each track, applicants may designate their project for “exploration and design” or “development and implementation.” Up to $110 million in total funding is available with individual awards ranging from $300,000 to $3 million. The application deadline is November 3, 2015. Good candidates: This funding opportunity is unrestricted. For more information, click HERE.
