BELOW ARE A FEW GRANT OPPORTUNITIES THAT MIGHT BE OF INTEREST |

1)The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) is accepting applications for Youth Engagement, Education, and Employment Programs. The funding opportunity aims to involve more youth in the Service’s natural resource conservation activities through education, employment and training, and through experiential programming. For the purpose of this grant, “youth” is defined as, “pre-K through early adult life, including students, associates, fellows, interns, members, and volunteers.” There is no award ceiling or floor to this grant, but the range of accepted financial assistance has been between $750 and $200,000. The application deadline is July 31, 2013. Good candidates: Unrestricted, including any organization (national, state, public, private, for-profit or non-profit) that supports the mission of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. 2) The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Agency of Business and Cooperative Programs offers a Small Socially Disadvantaged Producer Grant. The program provides funding for technical assistance to small agricultural producers including businesses and cooperatives located in rural locations. In particular, this award targets cooperatives in which the majority of members of the board or individuals are from socially disadvantaged groups. More than $2.8 million is available with an award ceiling of $200,000 made to twenty (20) successful applicants. The application deadline is July 10, 2013 for electronic copies; July 15, 2013 for hard copies of application materials. Good candidates: Cooperatives and Cooperative Development Centers. 3) The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is funding programs on Disseminating Patient Centered Outcomes Research to Improve Healthcare Delivery. The purpose of this grant program is to spread awareness of known strategies for improving the quality of healthcare delivery. Successful applicants are expected to “demonstrate the ability and commitment to leverage the capacities of existing broad-based networks of providers and other key stakeholders in their dissemination and implementation activities.” $4 million is available in total funding. The deadline is September 27, 2013. Good candidates: State and local governments, private, public, and state controlled institutions of higher education, and Native American governments and organizations; some federal agencies and community-based organizations may also be eligible.
