BELOW ARE A FEW GRANT OPPORTUNITIES THAT MIGHT BE OF INTEREST

1) The National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) wants to strengthen humanities education at community colleges with the Bridging Cultures at Community Colleges grant program. Under the Bridging Cultures theme, the initiative “encourages exploration of the ways in which cultures from around the globe, as well as the myriad subcultures within America’s borders, have influenced American society.” Grants can be used for faculty seminars, conference and workshops; to build humanities programs; and to build or enhance humanities resource sharing among institutions. 5 to 7 grants of $120,000 will be made. This year’s funding announcement has not been released yet, but the application deadline is expected to be August 2015. Good candidates: 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations, and state, local, and tribal governments in partnership with a community college. For more information, click HERE.

In particular, this award cycle will fund 4 different types of projects: (1) Developing Knowledge About What Works to Make Schools Safe; (2) Causes and Consequences of School Violence; (3) Shorter Term Studies on School Safety; and (4) Developing and Evaluating a Comprehensive School Safety Framework. The application deadline is June 12, 2015.
