Extensions Have Many Months Between Them

  

Extensions Have Many Months Between Them House Transportation and Infrastructure Chair Oberstar yesterday introduced a bill to extend the SAFETEA-LU authorization for 3 months only. As you recall, it expires at the end of this month. The Senate, on the other hand, is trying to move an 18 month extension that is supported by the Administration. The Senate wants to replace the House extension with its own when it comes over to the Senate and then how they conference the difference is anyone’s guess!

Chairman Oberstar also indicated he will not schedule a full committee vote on his reauthorization bill in the near term.
