The House and Senate passed a Continuing Resolution to extend discretionary funding for government programs just in time to meet the March 4 deadline. The CR proposed $4 billion in budget cuts, however, this CR grants only a two-week extension of the funding levels; the Republican-led House indicated that they will cut an additional $2 billion per week in each further extension until the Senate drafts its own year-long CR.
Of this first $4 billion in cuts, more than $1.5 billion come from transportation and infrastructure programs. The new funding levels as well as the budget cuts are detailed below:
