  BELOW ARE A FEW GRANT OPPORTUNITIES THAT MIGHT BE OF INTEREST...  
 

1) The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has announced the Health Care Innovation Challenge. This program will award up $1 billion in grants to applicants who will implement the most compelling new ideas to deliver better health, improved care and lower costs to people enrolled in Medicare, Medicaid and CHIP, particularly those with the highest health care needs. Awards will range from approximately $1 million to $30 million for a three-year period. The Health Care Innovation Challenge will encourage applicants to include new models of workforce development and deployment that efficiently support their service delivery model proposal. Enhanced infrastructure to support more cost effective system-wide function is also a critical component of health care system transformation, and applicants are encouraged to include this as an element of their proposals. Potential applicants must submit a letter of intent (LOI) by December 19, 2011 in order to be eligible for a funding award. Other important dates are: Applications-January 27, 2012; Anticipated Award-March 30, 2012. Good Candidates: Health care providers, payers, local government, public-private partnerships and multi-payer collaboratives. To submit a letter of intent, CLICK HERE. 2) The Federal Highway Administration has announced that $204 Million in fy'12 discretionary program grants is now available. The dollars will be awarded after a competitive grant process. Public agencies must apply by January 6th – private entities are encouraged to partner with their state dots or metropolitan planning organizations. Check in early with these partners in case their deadline is before the 6th of January. Twelve programs range from Interstate Maintenance to Ferry Boats and Terminals to Truck Parking Facilities. 3) The National Center on Senior Transportation has released a call for Enhancing Older Adult Mobility through Person-Centered Mobility Management grant submissions. The Center is looking for innovative solutions to improving senior mobility. Proposals are due on December 23 2011. A teleconference for interested entities will be held on December 8th. The Center will award 8 grants of up to $ 50,000 each. Good candidates: non-profit organizations or governmental agencies. For more information, CLICK HERE.

4) The Kauffman Foundation is interested in supporting research in entrepreneurship at higher education institutions. It is looking for nominations for Junior Faculty Fellowship Grants in Entrepreneurship research. The Foundation will make up to 7, $40,000 grants to faculty showing the potential of making contributions in this field. Applications are due January 23 2012. Purse strings are tightening and budgets will be cut but the federal government will continue to spend billions of dollars. A lot of these funds will be accessed by those who have experienced help in seeking grants, contracts and program funds!
