  WE JUST WON A NATIONAL ENDOWMENT FOR THE ARTS GRANT FOR A NEW THEATRE IN NEW ENGLAND SO WE'VE TAKEN TIME BELOW TO INCLUDE SIMILAR COMMUNITY-ORIENTED OPEN GRANT OPPORTUNITIES...  
 

1) The Kresge Foundation has announced its acceptance of preliminary applications for its Community Building and Artists' Skills and Resources programs. Both are focused on transforming communities through the "power of arts and culture". The Community Building grant will fund outstanding examples of community building integrated with the arts. The Artist program is designed to assist artists' role in reinvigorating communities and to increase the number of live-work spaces for artists. For more information, click here. Preliminary applications are due February 1, 2012. Good candidates: Arts Councils, Community Foundations

2) The US Soccer Foundation just opened up the 2012 Soccer for Success Social Innovation Fund Subgrant. It seeks to fund non-profit organizations serving economically-disadvantaged youth in grades K-8. The two year grants will range from $ 100,000 to $300,000 and does require a match. Applications are due on December 22 2011. For more information, click here. Good candidates will be: a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization.

3) US DOT has released a call for grants for the Multistate Corridor Operations and Management Program. Funding will assist corridor transportation projects (single or multi-state) and research that promote regional cooperation, planning and improve system management and operations. $7 Million is available and must grants require a 20% match. Applications are due January 3, 2012. For more information, click here. Good candidates include: existing and potential multistate organizations, coalitions, or other arrangements or entities engaged in corridor transportation activities.

Purse strings are tightening and budgets will be cut but the federal government will continue to spend billions of dollars. A lot of these funds will be accessed by those who have experienced help in seeking grants, contracts and program funds!
