WRDA Passage Threatened Again

A day after the Senate pared its version of the long-overdue Water Resources Development Act back by $ 17 Billion, the White House announced objection to another 100 Army Corps of Engineers projects in the bill! According to the Bush Administration, wastewater and drinking water system projects can not be accomodated in today's climate of fiscal constraint. Stopping short of a veto threat, one wonders what will happen if, as the Senate leadership proposes, the bill passes out of the body some time next week!
